The Ridgid 690-I Power Drive Threader is an upgrade on the already excellent 690C Ridgid pipe threader, featuring improvements that will further enhance the value of your work — all whilst making pipe threading easier and even more efficient.

Some great new features of the 690-I Ridgid Threading Machine include:

  • A newly moulded handle and contoured grip which provides very comfortable handling and operation over long periods of threading — making it easier and faster to operate.
  • Gear head and housing made from die-cast aluminium to incorporate a worm gear reduction drive for better torque distribution and longevity. Its shafts are fully supported by ball or needle bearings and it is all permanently lubricated.
  • Screw in motor brush covers for ease of serviceability.
  • A new powerful and reversible 1270W 110v motor.
  • A new 2-jaw ‘support arm’ gives you a secure hold of the pipe, therefore improving safety during operation, while at the same time ensuring little or no damage to the coating of the pipe — as the chances of it spinning while cutting are greatly reduced.

Features of the Ridgid pipe threader’s 11R Die's/Die heads include:

  • A quick release and install system, speeding up Die-head changing.
  • ‘Easy start’ geometry and new profiles for enhanced finished thread quality.
  • A greater number of lubrication holes, to allow the Die to be thoroughly oiled and cooled, therefore staying sharper for longer and giving you a superior thread.
  • Dies included in this Ridgid pipe threader kit to thread pipe with a BSPT type thread include: ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1”1/4, 1"1/2 & 2"BSPT. All of which are packed in a tough plastic case.

Please note: To operate the 690i you use a heavy-duty paddle switch which has a safety lock-off (automatically locks off when released). Plus the forward/reverse switch is separate to prevent accidental activation.
