FAQ Tubela MODEL 3 Tube Bender

What tube sizes can the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender handle?

• The Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender is suitable for bending tube and pipe ranging from 1/2"OD to 2"OD, 10mmOD to 50mmOD or 1/2"NB to 1"1/2NB (21.3mmOD to 48.3mmOD). You will probably need hydraulics to bend over 1”3/4OD or 45mmOD.

 

What materials can the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender handle?

• The Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender is capable of bending various materials, including Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminium (with optional Acetal Inserts). This versatility makes it suitable for a range of applications and fabrication needs.

 

What accessories are included with the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender?

• The Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender comes with a Degree Ring, a new Angle Indicator for bend angle accuracy and a 36" Telescopic Handle to ease the manual bending process. Tooling (Formers & Guides) and a Stand are not included. These can be purchased separately.

 

Where is the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender manufactured?

• The Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender is proudly made in the UK by us! With high quality parts, and the highest grade 355JR Steel. Which we take from raw sheet to our Laser Cutter, and CNC machine to the finished product. Its then taken locally to have a lovely thick textured matt Powder Coating. All the Pins are locally Zinc Plated for a very shiny appearance and rust-free longevity. We linish the plates, deburr and chamfer edges adding to the smooth high quality appearance. No one finishes to the standard we do!

 

Can I use hydraulic power with the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender?

• Yes, the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender accommodate hydraulic power. We offer an Air/Hydraulic Ram Kit and just the Ram on its own for you to add power to it.

 

What improvements have been made to the Tubela Model 3 compared to previous models?

• The Tubela Model 3 features higher grade S355JR high tensile steel, a thick textured Powder Coat for durability, Zinc Plated Pins, nuts, bolts and Spacers. An Angle Indicator is also included. We linish the plates, deburr and chamfer edges and holes adding to the smooth high quality appearance. No one finishes to the standard we do!

 

Can I use the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender for bending thin wall steel, mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium?

• Yes, the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender is versatile and can handle various wall thicknesses and materials with the appropriate tooling, including optional Acetal Inserts for Aluminium. Check the “Specifications” tab for minimum Wall Thicknesses, very important you do this, or ask us for guidance. Stainless Steel needs to be 1mm thicker than Mild Steel.

• However, to bend very thin (less than 2.5mm) Stainless Steel or Aluminium we make a Thin-Walled Bending Kit to adapt the Model 3 tubebender.

 

Is the Tubela Model 32 Tooling compatible with the JD2 Model 32 Tubebender?

• Yes, Tubela's Model 32 Tooling is compatible with the JD2 Model 32 Tubebender.

 

Is the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender compatible with JD2 Model 3 Tooling?

• Yes, all JD2 Model 3 Tooling is compatible with Tubela's Model 3 Tube Bender.

 

How easy is it to assemble and operate the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender?

• The Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender is designed for easy assembly and operation. It comes complete with a Manual, exploded diagram and all parts.

 

Does the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender include a stand?

• No, the Tubela Model 3 Tube Bender doesn't include a stand. You can purchase a stand separately, or if you wish to make your own. A Mounting Plate is supplied for easy installation on a sturdy metal surface.

What tubing sizes can the Tubela Model 32 Tube Bender handle?

• The Tubela Model 32 is capable of bending 1/2"OD to 2"1/2OD, 10mmOD to 63.5mmOD Steel Tube or 1/2" NB to 2"NB (21.3mmOD to 60.3mmOD) Steel Pipe.

 

What wall thickness can the Tubela Model 32 bend for 2" OD tubes?

• The Tubela Model 32 is rated to bend upto 2"OD x 6.35mm wall or 2"½ OD x 3mm wall.

 

Does the Tubela Model 32 come with any additional features?

• Yes, the Model 32 comes with a Degree Ring, a new ridgid Angle Indicator for bend angle accuracy, an Anti-Spring Back Bar in combination with a Former Locking Pin. A 36" Telescopic Handle to ease the manual bending process. Zinc Plated Pins and Spacers. Tooling (Formers & Guides) and a Stand are not included. These can be purchased separately.
